Surprise!

Okay, honestly, I had opened this blog back up a couple of weeks ago thinking about "wow I haven't posted on my blog in forever, lord knows if people still use this." Then I was going to say something about going into my last year of college, thesis, how this blog is a pretty great reminder of my middle school/high school years etc. etc. etc...

BUT FORGET ALL THAT!!!

Upon my discovery last night, I figured an update is in order simply because I found that there's not just one, but TWO NEW SKULDUGGERY PLEASANT BOOKS OUT THERE IN THE WORLD. NEW CONTENT AFTER THE SERIES ENDED FOUR YEARS AGO. I AM ABSOLUTELY LOSING MY MIND OVER THIS!!! This series has literally been there for me for most of my school life honestly and so just the fact that its BACK, IS IN THE SAME UNIVERSE AND FOLLOWS THE SAME CHARACTERS IS JUST AMAZING. So naturally I bought both of the books and they'll be here in like two weeks which just isn't soon enough.  I was just so hyped up last night when I found this out, I left a few of my friends, who know nothing about the series, some pretty long voice messages cause I had to just get out the energy you know? I also realized that fan art is a thing, and I'm gonna make some because now I feel confident enough in myself to do so!

This series is the reason I made this blog in the first place! The author, Derek Landy, had a blogspot running (I should check and see if he still does...) and I really wanted to comment on it and be part of the conversation. It led to a bunch of cool online friends, some interaction with Derek Landy himself *see past posts for more information from teenage me* and a writing blog thats...still out there...somewhere.... Anyway, this series means a lot to me and it seemed appropriate to write another post after so long seeing as this has returned to the world.

So I hope all of you still holding on to blogspot are living good lives and have been reading these new books. If you're just learning about these new books today then TAKE A LOOK AT THEM!!! It's such a good series and its so under appreciated, especially here in America. I maybe know like two people in real life who actually know the series and have read them.

I wish you all the best and hope you're all being your best and truest selves.

Time Flies Doesn't It?

It's odd isn't it, looking back on yourself just a couple of years back and yet still believe it was a lifetime ago?

I have just recently rediscovered my old blog and am making the realization of how much I've grown. This is strange. So much has changed in such a short time span yet it feels like eons. I'm not even sure if the people who follow me still use blogspot. It's become almost archaic? is that the word I'm looking for? I'm unsure.

Any who, I felt the need to make another post after all this time. People come, people go, the world keeps spinning and theres no way to turn back time. Yet this strange childish blog I kept reminds me of the past and how great it was, even though I complained a LOT. Now here I am three, almost four years later, a freshman in college, and everything has worked out for the best. I love my school, my friends are great, everyone is happy and I'm very excited to see what the future has to offer.

I guess an update is in order of sorts?

I finished high school in a flurry of nine art classes, seven school plays, receiving all six college acceptance letters, five months of fighting to attend my top choice, three years of unwanted but mandatory classes, and one mural that will forever be on the wall of my school. Lets not forget numerous friends and strange memories that will last a life time. Strange measurements yes, but my life is strange.  I currently attend my top choice, an art school in the city, under an animation major. I have five talented, wonderful roommates (one of which is a halloween skeleton we have named Papyrick) and fantastic teachers who really know their field. I've met more famous people in the industry within these past three months than in my entire life and been on numerous adventures.

Everything happens for a reason, we may not know why, but eventually the pieces fall into place and you'll end up where you feel most at home.

It gets better, trust me on this.

Sincerely,

Sherlock Holmes Returns

The brilliant Sherlock Holmes (left) and Dr. John Watson (right)
A new television series that first came out in 2010 called Sherlock is sweeping the nation and sweeping me off of our feet. It is co-created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. They have brilliantly created a thrilling 21st century version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original story's of the amazing one and only consulting detective Sherlock Holmes. And who could forget his incredible partner in crime Dr. John H. Watson, ex-arm doctor. Together the two make an unstoppable crime fighting pair who never cease to amaze the captive audience. These brilliant 21st century adaptations of some of Sir Doyle's greatest stories such as A Study in Scarlet now told as A Study in Pink are told in a high paced action packed series that will stun the viewer in awe and amazement.

Benedict Cumberbatch portrays Sherlock Holmes while Martin Freeman takes the role of Dr. John Watson. Together, along with some help from DI Lestrade, Molly Hooper, Mrs. Hudson (their land lady not their house keeper) and the British Government A.K.A Mycroft Holmes, they solve murder mysteries that no amateur could possibly solve. As the series goes on the murders get more involved more intense, each one becoming more and more complex as time goes on.

The episodes go as follows:
Season 1
Episode 1: A Study in Pink
Episode 2: The Blind Banker
Episode 3: The Great Game

Season 2
Episode 1: A Scandal in Belgravia
Episode 2: The Hounds of Baskerville
Episode 3: The Reichenbach Fall

A person may find all these episodes on iTunes or season 1 on Netflix OR one can order both seasons from Amazon UK

You may also find out more information on this fantastic show on John Watson's blog
www.johnwatsonblog.co.uk or you can also read Sherlock's blog The Science of Deduction at www.thescienceofdeduction.co.uk follow the two to 221B Baker Street and watch the story unfold right before you very eyes. This show will keep you on the edge of your seats!

In case some how by some miracle Steven Moffat or Mark Gatiss or Benedict Cumberbatch or Martin Freeman or any of the cast and crew of Sherlock is reading this you should know you have so many adoring fans in America and many more are being recruited as i type this. I have personally made sure to get the name of Sherlock out there, i wrote an article for my school news paper and wrote up in my blog and told all of my friends to watch it I've gotten quite a few people to start watching the show :)

I want to thank my friend for getting me started on the show in the first place don't want to mention your name but you know who you are!!!!!! So much more i  want to say about all the episodes sadly i can't, I'd give away WAY too much and spoil all the surprises! Your all just gonna have to watch and see what happens, can't wait for season 3!!!!!

Thanks for reading and please WATCH SHERLOCK!!!!!!!
